The Honourable Bob Runciman Latest to Endorse Anthony Furey

TORONTO – The Honourable Bob Runciman is the latest prominent person to endorse Anthony Furey for Mayor of Toronto.
Runciman served as an Ontario PC MPP for almost 30 years, holding numerous cabinet positions and serving as Leader of the Opposition from 2007 to 2009. Runciman then went on to serve as a Senator.
As the former Ontario Minister of Public Safety and Security, I know that Toronto is facing serious law and order challenges — and Anthony Furey is the candidate to fix things,” Runciman said in a statement. “His common sense approach will get the job done. I’m proud to endorse Furey for Mayor.”
Runciman was known for tackling law and order issues head on throughout his career, something Furey plans to do as Mayor.
“It’s an honour to be endorsed by such an experienced and respected politician as Bob Runciman,” Furey said. “I’ll be seeking his counsel on how I can best make the lives of Toronto families safer.”
Previous endorsements received by Anthony Furey include former federal finance minister and Conservative MP Joe Oliver, former federal foreign affairs minister and Conservative MPJohn Baird, former Liberal MP Dennis Mills, former Liberal MP Sarmite Bulte, former Liberal MP Dan McTeague, former Ontario PC cabinet minister John Snobelelen, former Ontario PC MPP John Hastings, TCDSB Chair Angela Kennedy, TDSB Trustee Dr. Weidong Pei, Dr. Jordan Peterson, celebrity chef Mark McEwan and former head of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business Catherine Swift.
