Trail-blazing former Councillor endorses Furey’s key priorities
NEWS – June 20, 2023
TORONTO – In a sign of growing momentum – and with just six days to go in the Mayoral by-election – former City Councillor and Mayoral candidate Rob Davis has declared his support for Anthony Furey’s campaign for Mayor of Toronto.
“Anthony shares the priorities I have believed in from the start,” Davis said. “No new taxes. No more so-called “safe” injection sites. No more silly pet projects like renaming Dundas Street.
“But most of all, bringing Torontonians together behind a vision of a better City for us all.”
With just days left to go in Toronto’s Mayoral Campaign, the polls, together with Davis’s backing, continue to show that Anthony Furey is the only candidate with momentum.
“And to me, he is a friend,” Furey Said. “And a strong advocate for fixing the City we love. Ours will be a powerful partnership for putting Toronto back on its feet.”
Forum Research’s Monday poll shows Furey has hit his highest number to date, is in a statistical tie within the margin of error for second place, and that the other candidates have stalled.
On Monday, Furey kicked off a series of four final policy statements, to be followed by a three-day blitz of all of Toronto’s wards.
“This City simply cannot afford an Olivia Chow mayoralty,” Furey stressed. “Her property tax hike alone will be a catastrophe if she is elected Mayor.”
